Morning,
Here we are again, half of the week disappearing behind us and still a few more long days before the weekend. Another big comics week and I am in two comics released this week that you might like? (Or not…)
First up is the third in the D.U.I. Comic series (aka ‘Drawn Under the Influence’). This is an annual fundraising collection from the Awesome Comics Podcast community that for the second year has been edited by our buddy Eamonn Clarke.

The cover is by the always brilliant Ian Ashcroft and speaks to our chosen charity this year MIND. There are a wealth of great and interesting stories but small press veterans and newcomers. The always fabulous Helena Edwardson drew a story by me. (Sorry Helena).
Click on this link right here and you can grab a digital copy for £3 and a perfect bound A4 collection for just £9.
Next up and part of an entirely different section of my comics life comes the new Graphic Gospel from myself and Adam Falp over at Tribute Press.

Disgusting and depraved this tells the story of something that may or may have not happened with me, a drug dealer and a couple of ladies at Small Press Expo. Not for the faint of heart and available by clicking right here.
Speaking of our canny Editor Eamonn Clarke, I was also lucky enough to get invited on to his Mega City Book Club podcast and talk about the Epic series The Light and Darkness War (now available as a lovely Titan Comics hardback). This was a really fun session and we really got under the skin of what is fast becoming a forgotten classic.

Back to the task at hand.
Top.
This was a more difficult task this week and there were no tens coming into my eyeballs. So I jumped at the book that I had the most fun with.

I had real fun with the first instalment of this A5 release and I’d have to say that it only got funnier. It continues the story of the Kommandant of a WorldWar 2 P.O.W. Camp as he plans a stage play. These parts are easily the best and there are a couple of flashbacks that are fun but don’t quite compare. We’ll be giving it a full review on Monday’s ACP as myself and Dan have both read it. Cowdry remains a creator who I’ll buy anything he does.
Bottoms.
I’ll admit to buying this during lockdown after re listening to a few Springsteen albums for the first time in years and not getting round to it until recently.

The artwork is not of a standard that people should be charging for and I found the story very self-indulgent. At £7 it’s actually not a bad price for the page count and packaging compared to other comics out there. But, came bottom in this week’s reading pile.
This week we have some OG X-Men talk with a newcomer to the NIA podcast and fingers crossed for a special guest on the next ACP pod.
Many thanks for reading.
