Evening!
Apologies for the late entry. It’s been a day/week/month and a third with more work than I have had in a while.
All that overtime pays for comics, I guess. Trust me, get a good pension, sort out your savings and wear sunscreen!
It’s been a funny week again in comics. With the good and golden showing once again that if you ignore the BS and concentrate on the comics you can come out of it with some fun and your head held high. And also discuss fixing/replacing that broken direct market system. Meanwhile in a City called ‘X’ the bellends continue to rattle on to nobody in particular in a loop of phlegm. I implore you to get off the online and get in the pages of a comic. Not always an easy task to complete but well worth the effort nevertheless.
We are accelerating into the season. A measure of my busy schedule is how many gifts I have so far obtained for others. Luckily I’ve just sent some comics goodness to my pod brothers and am relieved that they don’t have the items already. Grin at a job well done and move on to the next person.
Over Christmas I’ll be posting my Top 11 of 2023 and there’s plenty to choose from. Just not exactly from the same places I found a few years ago. Marvel and DC have been a sad space for a while now. Comics must always lead with quality in a competitive market. Once that is obtained you can fix distribution, pricing, payments and perceptions. But the comics have to be good in the first place.
On to that task at hand.
Top of Long Box Mountain.
This week I found reading pleasure back in the furry arms of that rabbit.

The hunt for Usagi and Yukichi is on. But not before two magical villains fight. Who wins will then face the hero. Spot on storytelling as always from Stan in this new mini series.
It’s up there for the most consistently readable long-runner in comics. Class at every page turn.
Down in the Dirty Valley.
What the fuck is this messy crap showing it’s face and asking me for £4.85!!! How dare it.

If only the insides of this book were 1/100000th as good as Dodson’s cover. Jumbled, confused and messy about a covert mission that isn’t really a mission with people I couldn’t tell you what side they were on and I could care less.
Do not buy this like I did!
Remember when Thunderbolts was a fun read…
Many thanks for reading.
