Tops and Bottoms 8/1/2024.

Morning,

Yeah, I know I’m early but this week is shaping up to be a busy one. I’ve just spent my (early) morning reading the new Marvel and DC releases and pretty disappointed. No real surprise at the moment. I’m hoping they’ll turn themselves around soon. I’m finding it hard to get through most of the issues on the two apps. A lot of the faults seem to lay at the feet of the writers, and I’m guessing the editors, as the art is often pretty passable for a monthly comic.

Oh well, moving on.

I read this over the weekend after hearing about it from a buddy.

I’ve met Martin a few times and we have friends in common so I expected this to be clever and impassioned. It’s a shortish essay of a book at sixty-two pages. Eloquently presenting an argument regarding the proliferation of Dramarama Addicts and their offence performances. The author describes some examples and makes a number of interesting comparisons. My favourite being that a Parrot owner may be offended by the Monty Python ‘Dead Parrot’ sketch. The assessment that claiming the victim’s hood of ‘offended’ is just a controlling mechanism was well explained. There are also some cartoons of (mostly) the author’s that were also cool to see. Honestly, I’d rather have read something longer as I got through this on a Herts to a pink Elephant train ride. I also missed something of a deeper personal experience after his own recent theatre. Worth a read, but only if you are a holder of a sense of humour – so this may not apply to everyone.

Back to the task at hand.

Tops.

Easy one. A regular appearer! Do I really need to explain?

Here are the cast that I’m really beginning to worry about!

Get on this! I hear that the next issue is another leap in quality!

Bottoms.

This gets bad. My apologies.

Honestly. What is happening? If you pay good money for a comics reading subscription, can’t you expect the comics available to be better than this crap?

What the ever-living fuck is this utter rubbish? ’Wild Imagination Comics’ my arse!

Here’s another two-page comic from the ‘Indie’ tab on Global Comix. Entitled ‘Kid from Kakatu: Richie vs Rhinestone’ and published by some deluded bunch of bellends called ‘Crispy Comics’.

Kak(atu) indeed.

Hahahahahahah we live in a circle jerk world of the deluded!

See you soon.

Many thanks for reading.
