Tops and Bottoms – 13th January 2026.

Morning.

A busy week already and the year has barely begun. Even whilst travelling to another country I got no snow. It’ll soon be spring and birds will sing. I’ll probably lose another scarf. I quite like this new one.

Because it’s now 5.30am and the day/week/month will soon run away with itself I’m going to jump into the categories quicker than usual this week.

Comic Shop of the Week.

Cardiff Comics. I found some excellent back issues this week. Witnessed a group of fans chatting and was asked what I was having fun reading as I paid. It pleasantly surprised me. Thanks to my buddy Iain for telling me about the place and being there for a friendly chat. I wish it was closer. I’d be there every weekend.

Small Press Comic of the Week.

Dylan Henty was the guest this week over at the Awesome Comics Podcast. His comics are full of energy and humour and horror and are, in all honesty, totally out of control.

He sent us his two new comics ‘Modern Living’ and ‘The Little Book of Self Abuse’ (drawn into an A5 notebook). Both are great. Search him out here.

Tops.

Sublime. With a story of friends and colleagues but with a through line of loneliness. Katriona Chapman continues her run of incredibly personal output.

A sense of reality and familiarity rubs up against the cold realities of modern life and those moments we need to take a breath. Released on the 20th of January. Order your copy now.

Bottoms.

Hahahahahahah Ben 10 my arse!

Mainstream Comic of the Week.

Hardman knows what he’s doing. This is a solid comic. The art is really good. How else do you describe it other than solid? And, in all honesty, that’s all I want.

I’ll see you next week.

And remember…
