Can you feel it? Summer is on the way. Give it a month or two and I’ll be complaining about it being too hot.
I took a day off last week and spent it buying and reading comics. I can’t say that I am caught up on the Read Pile, as death may come sooner than that momentous occasion, but I made a sizeable dent. More of that below.
This week on the ACP was a Three Amigos Episode with discussions ranging from the X books, to the organisation of those working in the medium to a longer chat on ‘Length’. I mostly talked out of my arse as usual but hopefully some of it made sense. Have a listen to the ranting right here.
On Friday we also managed a pretty great Drink & Draw. A reminder that this is open to anyone. You don’t even need to draw or drink or even talk. Just pop along and enjoy the comics chat. Sadly for adults only. Thanks to everyone who popped along and watch out for the announcement for the next one.
For those asking about the NIA podcast, it is coming back. Looking like I’ll be doing some recording at Heroes Con in June. Apologies for the break, It’ll be back soon, promise.
Back to the task at hand as the Sun is up and I have heaps of work to do.
Top.
Can’t be any doubt that I’d be mentioning this one. Fables has come to the end of the road for the foreseeable and does so with class and grace. Consistently the best book on the shelves. Also a book that never gets talked about enough.

It is also a book that is easily accessible on apps and in collections. Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham, Steve Leialoha, Lee Loughridge and all the crew should be winning all the awards for this final run. Hopefully they can sort out the dispute with the publisher sometime soon.

I mean! Just look at that art!
If you’ve been thinking that Fables is something you should get round to soon then there is no better time than now. With the ‘Rights issue’ I can’t say for sure that it’ll be in print. (Fingers crossed).
Bottoms.
Groan.

Many thanks for reading. (Not you Maeve!)
Tip of the Day – No matter how long you spend commenting on the internet scandal of the day it won’t miraculously improve your comics work. Dare I say, it may actually have the opposite result. Eat a biscuit and stay offline.
