Just a quick message to thank everyone who has backed the new Tribute Press Kickstarter. It is genuinely really appreciated.
When myself and Falpy started this Underground comix-making game we had zero expectations and got into it just for the fun of making comics. It is heart-warming that so many of you have reached into your pockets to support us.
If you’ve missed our rubbishly minimal promotion then you can still find it here. We have a week to go and thankfully have already smashed the total. But don’t let that stop you grabbing a copy.
This is a reboot/redo of the daily comics we stuck out during our year-long experiment on Patreon during lockdown plus some extra material. We had fun doing it and Falpy wanted to revisit the art and give some of it a redraw and a tidy.
It tells the story of a comic company in the London area who operate offices above a strip club. This is based on a strip club near where myself and Falpy live that I would often walk past on my daily lockdown exercise. Falpy and I would fantasise about using one of those rooms above the bar as our office one day. And as with everything we chuckle about it became a comic.
We added some Satanists and some monsters from other dimensions. Add in there a character who is a mix between Jason King and Pat Mills and you have our main hero. (I’ve told Pat and he liked/laughed at the premise). We celebrate both the OGN format and the days of British weekly comics with some Hammer Horror vibes along for the ride. And some of the totally crass and out-of-order Tribute style humour.
Sadly the pub has become offices for a builders merchants and sights of ladies dressed as Beau Peep smoking outside have evaporated. Although I did spot this outside the old venue a year ago. That’s not weird is it!
So, join us on our ridiculous adventure. And learn that the way to raise the dead is to do a sex-wee on their coffin!
